Cécile

Cécile started to sing in 2000 with the association “Grain de Sel” within the scope of a variety show - “Show au Cœur” – in aid of the “Restos du Coeur” charitable organisation. The show was performed several times, in front of an audience of up to 10,000 persons. At the time, Cécile also entered the jazz workshop at the music school of Challans where she started learning jazz, singing along with the Big Band of Challans. From that moment on, she appeared regularly on the stage of the Pannonica Jazz Hall in the region of Nantes.

In 2001, Cécile joined a variety band giving twenty or so performances every year. She thus had a chance to sing her very first jazz standards as a soloist. In the same year, she decided to go on a three-month visit to the United States where her twin sister then lived. There she discovered Broadway shows, frequented jazz clubs and met many jazzmen from New York.

In 2002, she set up a voice and piano duo with some jazz pianist she had struck an acquaintance with, starting to give regular performances on regional stages. The duo expanded rapidly with the introduction of a double bass, drums and a saxophone, changing progressively into a quintet renamed “Nightingale”. That is when Cécile invited her twin sister to join the band… which then became “Alice & Cécile”.
Cécile is a graduate Social and Family Economy Adviser (Bachelor’s degree 3).

In addition to their musical career, Alice & Cécile are working as Artistic Agents and Press Attachés for DJAZ Records and SEVEN PRODUCTIONS in Paris.
